2014 Summer Mathematics Academies

  Sowing the Seeds: Growing Mathematical Content Understanding

The Georgia Department of Education will host the 2014 Summer Academies with the theme: "Sowing the Seeds: Growing Mathematical Content Understanding" at seven locations across the state this summer.

There will be 15 grade level/course sessions led by Georgia educators at each site:

  • Each grade, K-8
  • Coordinate Algebra
  • Analytic Geometry
  • Advanced Algebra
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Advanced Mathematical Decision Making
  • Statistical Reasoning
(Note: each of the seven Academy sites will offer the same series of sessions.)

Public school teachers interested in attending should contact their district to become registered. Members of GCTM that are teachers from private schools or home schools, pre-service teachers, and teachers unable to register through their school districts may have an opportunity to register for a limited number of seats through GCTM.
